B.Pharm Admission Process in UP State - Complete Guide

As Henry David Thoreau says, “Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it”.

The healthcare industry in this contemporary era is evolving at an extraordinary pace, and pharmacy professionals stay on the edge of it. At their core, they bridge the gap between medical science and patient welfare.

Due to high-volume pharmaceutical production, India ranks third worldwide. It is home to over 3,000 drug companies and 10,500 manufacturing units. And, in the near future, the industry is showing no sign of slowing down either. However, India's pharmaceutical industry is expected to reach USD 130 billion by 2030 (published in the report by IBEF).

Uttar Pradesh in India has turned out to be a growing pharmaceutical hub, and the best part is that students willing to enter growing pharmaceutical hubs in UP can now apply for direct admission into pharmacy institutes for the academic session 2025-26.

This guide walks you through everything, be it eligibility, the entrance exam for B Pharma in UP, fees, counselling, or what comes after your degree.

Let’s get started…

Uttar Pradesh B Pharm Admission 2026: Brief Introduction

The Bachelor of Pharmacy, aka  B. Pharma, is a four-year undergraduate program that consists of 8 semesters. All of these semesters deal with the study of medicine. The core subjects in this program include pharmaceutical chemistry (the chemistry of medicinal compounds), pharmaceutics (the manufacture of dosage forms such as tablets and capsules), pharmacology (the action of drugs on the body), and pharmacognosy (medicinal drugs derived from plants and other natural sources).

All in all, the whole curriculum starts with basic sciences and progresses to pharmaceutical sciences along with specialisation topics to prepare students for multiple roles within the practice.

So, if you’ve just completed 12th standard and are wondering what to do next, B Pharmacy is the right career path for you.

A Complete Process For UP B Pharma Admission 2026

Having a complete knowledge of the B Pharma admission process is half the battle won. Here’s a complete application process:

Step 1: Check Eligibility

First, you need to verify that you meet the academic, subject, and age criteria outlined by the institution. And the criteria for the same include:

  • A candidate should have passed the UP board intermediate exam, or must have passed class 12th from a recognised board where the mandatory subjects include Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics (either one is compulsory), core subjects, and one elective subject.

  • A student must have secured a minimum of 45%–50% marks.

  • Must have appeared in the CUET entrance exam.

  • Have a minimum age of 17 years.

Step 2: Register Yourself

A step-by-step process to apply for the same includes:

  1. Land on the official website of NTA CUET.

  2. Register yourself by filling out the application form with your name, address, email address, father’s name, DOB and phone number.

  3. Then, click on “Submit”.

  4. Thereafter, input the OTP that has been sent to your registered mobile number or email address.

  5. Next, create a unique password and security pin.

  6. Finally, students can proceed further with the unique User ID and an OTP.

Step 3: Filling Out Application Form

Once you are done with inputting the basic details, you are then supposed to enter personal information, details of the qualifying exam, educational information, communication address, and preferred exam location.

Step 4: Documents Uploading

Document upload is a step that many students rush through, and note that it is precisely where avoidable rejections happen. Therefore, candidates are advised to upload the scanned copy of each document in the specified size, format, and quality requirements set by NTA.

The prescribed file size and format for each type of document are listed below:

Document

Format

Typical Size Limit

Recent passport-size photograph

10 KB to 200 KB

JPG/JPEG

Candidate's signature

4 KB to 30 KB

JPG/JPEG

Class 10 certificate (for DOB proof)

50 KB to 300 KB

JPG/JPEG

Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS, etc., if applicable)

50 KB to 300 KB

Pro Tips 💡:

  • The photograph must be recent (taken within the last 3 months), have a white background, and have the candidate's face clearly visible.

  • The signature must be made on plain white paper with a black or blue pen. Try not to use capital letters or block signatures.

  • Scanned copies must be clear, legible, and free of watermarks or stamps.

Step 5: Submitting the Application Fee

The application fee is the final financial commitment before your form is officially submitted. Candidates have to submit category-wise B Pharma fees in UP. For instance, individuals under the General/OBC/EWS category can expect to pay around ₹750 – ₹1,000, and people under the category SC/ST/PwD expect to submit a payment of around ₹550 – ₹700.

Now the application fee can be accepted via various payment modes like Credit Card (Visa/MasterCard/RuPay), Debit Card (all major banks), Net Banking, and UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or BHIM). The moment you make a payment, you will receive an automatically generated payment confirmation receipt that you can download and save.

NOTE 📝: Make sure to make payment within the specified deadline because unpaid applications are automatically cancelled regardless of how thoroughly the form has been filled.

Step 6: Preview and Final Submission

The final step of the UP B Pharma entrance exam 2026 is to preview the application. For this step, individuals are required to carefully review every single detail entered across all previous steps before clicking "Final Submit". Consequently, this will allow one to capture any disparity in the form and correct it immediately to avoid future struggles.

To make things easier for you, we’ve provided a pre-submission checklist below. You can refer to these:

  • Full name that matches the Class 10 certificate.

  • DOB is correct.

Post-Application Admission Process in B Pharmacy

Submitting the application doesn’t end the process; the actual journey of B.Pharm admission 2026 starts after submitting the application form. Here is the detailed walkthrough of every stage you may come across after applying for the UP B Pharma entrance exam 2026:

  • Appear for the CUET Exam

Once the application form is submitted, the next step is to appear for the CUET exam, which is the primary entrance exam for B.Pharm in UP, conducted by NTA in computer-based mode. This specific exam evaluates candidates in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and General Aptitude/English.

On the actual exam day, students are advised to carry a printed admit card (downloaded from the official NTA CUET portal), original photo ID, passport-size photograph, and a black or blue pen.

  • Register for UPTAC (UP Technical Admission Counselling)

Once the CUET results are declared, the next step in the admission process for B.Pharmacy is to register for UPTAC. Why? Because UP B.Pharm admission mainly takes place via UPCET (now CUET-based) scores, followed by UPTAC counselling. These sessions are mainly conducted by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow.

The only bummer in case you avoid this step is that your CUET score has no pathway to a seat without UPTAC registration, no matter how well you ranked.

To register, you need to follow the steps listed below:

  1. Visit the official AKTU UPTAC counselling portal at uptac.admissions.nic.in

  2. Register your candidature using your CUET Application Number and registered mobile number.

  3. Fill in additional details as stated on the portal.

  4. Upload all required documents in the prescribed format and size.

  5. Pay the UPTAC counselling registration fee online via any of the modes.

  6. Complete your academic history, including Class 10 and Class 12 details, board name, and percentage secured

  7. Submit the registration form and download the acknowledgement slip.

Note that UPTAC fees are separate from your CUET exam registration and require a separate payment.

  • Document Verification

The document verification step in the B.Pharm admission process confirms that every claim you have made in your application is genuine and supported by official documentation. In 2026, this process will take place online through the UPTAC portal only.

The common documents required for this step include:

  • CUET 2026 Scorecard.

  • Class 10th and 12th Marksheet or Certificate.

  • Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS).

  • Domicile or Residence Certificate.

  • Passport-Size Photograph.

  • Signature Scan.

  • Government-Issued Photo ID.

  • PwD Certificate (if applicable).

Make sure that every document is current or valid, scanned copies are clear, complete, or legible, and name spelling must be identical across all documents.

  • Choice Filling

While many take this step for granted, this remains the most important step in the entire B Pharma admission process 2026. Here, you, as a student, are going to inform the institution about which colleges and courses you want. Whereas the system then evaluates your rank, category, and seat availability to allot you the best possible option.

The options for AKTU-affiliated B.Pharm colleges in UP are:

College Name

Selection Criteria

Sanskriti University

NEET

Amity University

Based on video responses to the questions posted

Lloyd Institute of Management and Technology

CUET (UPSEE) / NEET

Sundar Deep Group of Institution

UPSEE / Merit-Based

Teerthanker Mahaveer University

Merit-Based

Maharishi University

NEET

Sanskar Educational Group

CUET (UPSEE)

After selecting the college, students have to choose the preferred course, including any available specialisation tracks. Lastly, they can arrange the selected college-course combinations in order of preference, where the most desired one gets choice 1, and the least desired remains the last choice.

  • Seat Allotment

Now comes the moment of truth in the counselling cycle. At this point, the system evaluates every registered candidate's rank, category, and choice list simultaneously and generates allotment results. Remember, the seats are allotted based on the intersection of four factors:

  • CUET rank

  • Reservation policy

  • Availability of seats

  • Choice preference

Not just that, the whole process takes place in 3 rounds, i.e., main allotment (round 1), upgradation (round 2), mop-up round (round 3). And after each round, students get a choice either to accept or freeze, accept or float, or reject.

  • Download Provisional Allotment Letter

Once a seat has been allotted and the seat acceptance fee has been paid online, the UPTAC portal then generates your Provisional Allotment Letter. For those who are unaware of it, let us tell them that this is the official document confirming their admission to a specific institution, course, candidate details, payment status, and reporting deadline.

Here, the most important question remains: how to download the provisional allotment letter? To know that, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the UPTAC counselling portal with the Application Number and password

  2. Go towards the "Allotment Letter" section and click on it.

  3. From there, click on “Download Provisional Allotment Letter” and get it right away.

  4. Save a digital copy and print at least three physical copies to use while reporting to the college.

This document should be kept safely since losing it will make you face hard times.

  • Report to the Allotted College

The final step for the admission process in B Pharmacy is perhaps the most real and exciting. Lastly, if everything went perfectly, the students physically report to their allotted institution to complete enrollment and officially begin their B.Pharm journey. Plus, there is a deadline for the same, which means if any students miss the deadline and fail to report on time, their seats will be cancelled automatically. Hence, your seat is then reassigned to another candidate on the waiting list.

To avoid that, you need to carry these documents on the day of reporting to the college:

  • Provisional allotment letter (printed).

  • CUET 2026 scorecard.

  • Original documents.

  • Fees (as per college requirement).

  • Passport-size photographs.

  • Aadhar card.

  • Anything else specified by the college.
